First group discussion - Vietnam National Brand and Vietnamese Identity Survey Project

On September 19, 2023 within the project “Vietnam Nation Brand and Viet Identity Survey,” the first focus group discussion was organized with the participation of experts from various fields:

  • Mr. Bung Tran – President of Friends of Ireland
  • Ms. Sophie Ha Nguyen – Ceo of Style Academy
  • Mr. Le Ba Thong: Founder, and former CEO of TTT Corporation.
  • Ms. Khong Loan: Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Forbes Vietnam.
  • Ms. Nguyen The Thanh: Member of the editorial board of Người Đô Thị, former Editor-in-Chief of HCMC Women Dailies newspaper, former Deputy Director of HCMC’s Department of Culture and Sports.
  • Dr. Nguyen Thi Hau: Former Director of the HCMC Institute for Development Research.
  • Dr. Dao Minh Hong: Deputy Head of the International Relations Department at the University of Economics and Finance (UEF).

This was an opportunity for the Project team to access diverse opinions and perspectives on the national brand and Vietnamese essence. The exchange session was lively and noted many valuable contributions. The focus group sessions are expected to be organized from September to December 2023

Orange Initiative scholarships are being provided by HPDF for the 2023–2024 academic year

HPDF continues to offer the Orange Initiative scholarship for the current academic year, with a total scholarship value of 150 million VND, as it has in prior years. Ten students who have been affected by Agent Orange, UXO, or PWD families will receive this grant. HPDF will soon provide an update on the award ceremony.

Upholding the International Day of Peace with an event on the theme of "Be your authentic self" (2nd October, 2023)

HPDF together with Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology (HUFLIT) is organizing an event on the theme “Be your authentic self” in honor of International Peace Day 2023 (21st September). A culture of peaceful living, a harmonious way of life from within, at peace with oneself, and extending into the community with those around us, is what we hope to encourage. Amy Minh Hanh Corey, a Vietnamese-American singer and inspirational speaker, and other guests had perform at the special event and share their stories on the journey to healing from trauma and towards mental health as they strive to prevent violence and bullying in the community. Amy Minh Hanh Corey is one of HPDF’s Peace Culture Goodwill Ambassadors.

Talk: “The colours of music”

Talk by Trần Thị Nguyệt Sa, HPDF Secretary General, on Art and Aesthetics appreciation, Founder of Saigon Chamber Music

If a musical work is a painting then it owes its colours to various sources and materials, from harmony to the unique voice of the instruments. The talk will illustrate some fundamental aspects of music using some of the most favorite tunes and works in the 7 centuries of music history.

  • She has been a founding member of HPDF
  • Executive Member of the Vietnam Peace and Development Foundation (VPDF)
  • Member of the standing committee of the HCMC Peace and Development Foundation (HPDF)
  • Executive Member of the HCMC Union of Friendship Organizations (HUFO)
  • Secretary General of HUFO from 2007 to 2011
  • Ms. Tien holds a Master degree in Development Management (MDM) from the Asian Institute of Management (Philippines)
