The Ho Chi Minh City Peace Committee (HPC) is a member organization of the Viet Nam Peace Committee, and also an affiliate of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations (HUFO),
HPC’s function is to widely mobilize people from all strata in Ho Chi Minh City to support and work for the goal of peace and social progress in order to contribute to the consolidation of a peaceful and stable environment for the development of the country, and to the safeguarding of international peace and security.
HPC’s mode of operation is to integrate and coordinate activities of diverse forms and nature with other civic and social organizations inside and outside HUFO to contribute to the work of people-to-people relations in Ho Chi Minh City, specifically:
- Programs/initiatives related to peace, friendship, cooperation and development, especially those supporting the victims of agent orange
- Actions and activities against arms race, for the elimination of weapons of mass destruction, and upholding the principles of international law and the role of United Nations.
