About the Community
As part of its mission to promote a peaceful, inclusive, and globally connected society, HPDF—together with Chan Thien My Consulting & Translation Co., Ltd.—initiated the Saigon Community of Interpreters & Translators (SGCI&T).
SGCI&T operates as an informal professional network, providing a platform for both professional and semi-professional interpreters and translators to connect, exchange knowledge, and develop their expertise.
Through a series of thematic sessions, the community explores various aspects of the interpreting and translation profession and market, offering valuable insights, practical knowledge, and opportunities for peer learning.
At the same time, SGCI&T serves as a bridge between practitioners (supply) and organizations, businesses, and individuals in need of language services (demand), fostering a more connected and dynamic ecosystem.

Four sessions were organized with an average attendance of 80–90 participants, covering practical and career-oriented topics such as:

- Interpreter Training Pathways
- From Consecutive to Simultaneous Interpreting: Entering the Market
- Market Overview: Supply, Demand, and Competition
Roundtable Discussion (June 27, 2020)
“The Current Landscape and Importance of Translation in Vietnam’s Comprehensive Development and Global Integration”This hybrid (in-person and online) dialogue was organized in collaboration with experienced translators from Hanoi, with participation from representatives of publishing houses, book distributors, translation service providers, training institutions, and professional translators.
